Holiday Home to Rent / Gîte to Let

Welcome to Base Calames holiday home, a large house rental, gîte, or self-catering accommodation located in the stunning Ariege Pyrenees. Ideal for activity holidays and family groups, we have plenty of space and excellent facilities. Weekly bookings are normally Saturday to Saturday, but we are happy to receive enquiries for any duration of stay.

The house for rent (aka Gîte in French, meaning a holiday rental home) accommodates up to 12 people in six bedrooms as follows: two twin rooms, and a double room upstairs; one double, one twin and a bunk room downstairs. There is a bathroom and a separate toilet on both floors. An open plan kitchen/diner and lounge area with balcony, wood burning stove and mountain views provides the main living area. The dining table extends to seat up to 12, and the kitchen is well-equipped and includes a dishwasher.

The lounge area of the Gîte has comfortable seating, a TV, DVD player & HIFI, and free WIFI coverage throughout the house. There are board games, books and magazines, and DVDs for inside entertainment.

Downstairs is a double garage ideal for secure storage of bikes and other outdoor equipment. There is also a second fridge & freezer, a washing machine, and a selection of outdoor toys and games, as well as a table football game.

Outside, there is a patio area with seating, a separate barbecue area with 2 large picnic tables, and a spacious garden to explore.

Bedding and towels are included in the price, although guests should bring their own towels for trips to the lakes/pools, etc.
